We are back and ready to share some fun things we have been learning and doing this past month.
A New Year started off with friends and a fun comedy night out! How do you measure your goals? Wishing everyone a successful year whatever that means for you. How do you keep on track with your goals to make sure you accomplish what you set out to do? What kind of reward system do you have in place? these are important questions to answer as you review your achieved and not so achieved goals from year to year. What has helped us is implementing a system that includes accountability, rewards and daily journaling.
Some example questions in our daily journals at the end of each day could be:
Then rate yourself between 1-10 on a happiness scale because you know when you are happy you attract happy things and experiences into your life more often. Happy 2016!!
If this is the first time you have heard the phrase Golden Milk. Turmeric has many health benefits and is a delicious hot drink before bed
http://wellnessmama.com/223/turmeric-tea-recipe/. Soooo Yummy!!! I do not drink regular milk as I believe now a days there is no real pure milk without antibiotics, growth hormones or steroids. I love making my own almond milk which is so easy and coconut milk which is so tasty. It makes me feel better anyhow give it a try tonight before bed, easy to whip up.
I believe while watching the Dragons Den we first l heard about these mushroom boxes. I noticed them selling at the Superstore and it didn'ttake llong before we had our own fresh Oyster mushrooms growing right before our eyes.
You can use the mushrooms in soups, sautéed in stir-fries, you will gain fibre, vitamin D, niacin and iron from a serving of these earthy delicacies.
Thinking about starting your own seeds! It sure is rewarding to see the growth and raising your own. There is just something about growing your own. Things you will need to think about is the space you want to choose, seeds of your choice, pick up a shelf, some prop trays and lids, a heat source for rooting and you are good to go. This year I brought in seeds from salt spring island which was a recommendation from one of our suppliers.
